Sr. Mary Jean was a beautiful person. She encouraged my love of chemistry and encouraged me to see that I was on my way to becoming an accomplished young woman. She embodied what is so wonderful about the SUA spirit. I will always remember her.

I will always remember Sr Chem ....she was the only teacher I had at SUA that was willing to teach advanced chemistry even if it meant giving up her study hall for just one student...me! She made chemistry simple and sparked my interest from day one. Rest in peace Sr Chem.

Sr. Mary Jean, or Sr. Raphael (as I knew her at Mary Manse College) will always be remembered for her smile and warm personality. Although I never had her as a professor we
developed a lasting friendship over the years and I would
visit her often when I came to Toledo to see relatives. We
had common interests as I also had relatives in the Cleveland area. Deepest sympathy and prayers to her family and fellow Ursulines.
