What a long life of service to her community. I attended St. Pius V in the 1980’s and Sister touched our lives. May she Rest In Peace.

I was so sad to hear of the passing of Sister Waltrude. She was my music and art teacher in 4th grade at St. Pius in Lynn. And also had taught my sisters and cousins. She was a wonderful lady and meant business when teaching music and art. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. Rest In Peace Sister Waltrude.

Sister was my 5th grade teacher at Sacred Heart School in Lynn in 1966-67. My dad died suddenly at the end of the school year and sister brought my classmates (those whose parents allowed) to my dad's funeral . This was a great comfort to a devastated 10 year old. Rest in Peace.

This news breaks my heart. Sr. Waltrude was one of my dearest friends. We formed a quick & strong friendship during my 9 years teaching @ SPS that continued throughout the last 10 years. She always made me feel special & loved & blessed (as I hope she felt in return). Our daily chats after she returned from Mass, the delicious wafts of her cooking that reached my tiny office, the touching stories of her family that she loved dearly, the sweet Tuesday surprises she left on my desk (and the...
