Skip Burnette

Ralph B. 'Skip' Burnette, 71, resident of Chinquapin Road, husband of Margaret M. Whitt-Burnette, died Thursday December 18, 2014 at Hospice House. Born in Jesup, GA October 25, 1943, he was a son of the late Ralph B. and Helen Smith Burnette. A graduate of Greenwood High School and Lander College, Skip was also a graduate of Clemson University where he received a Forestry Management Degree. He retired from the SC Forestry Commission after serving in the Columbia office and the Spartanburg and Pickens offices. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home is a stepson, David C. Whitt of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Jack M. (Mary) Burnette of Greenwood and John D. (Tamara) Burnette of Joanna; nephews, Russell (Tammy) Burnette and Monroe (Ronda) Burnette, all of Greenwood.
