Christmas in Gillette - 2004 - Sean, Dad, Shannon, Christopher, and Kelly

A greatful thank you for the Angel here on earth who delivered a beautiful poinsetta to our Mom's house early Christmas morning with 5 pretty scrolls rolled up (one for each of us) with the following letter:

MY FIRST CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN

I see the countless trees around the world below, with tiny lights, like heaven’s stars, reflecting on the snow. The sight is so spectacular; please wipe away that tear, for I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the...

Tom and I both enjoyed our time with Skip and Kay on a cruise to the Caribbean. The fun we had!! Skip and I participating in a cruise show, with Skip being my muscle man! He had a sense of humor, and lots of fun to be around. Then we came to Montana to visit a few days, we enjoyed every moment. Though you guys never made it back to Iowa, we thought of you alot and wondered about Skip's health. We know he had been sick for along time. Now he is happy, and him and mom are probably drinking...

just wanted to express my sympathy and best wishes to the kelly family. while i was in butte kay and skip were so kind to us and that kindness will always stay with me. i only knew skip for almost 3 months but i was so saddened to hear of his parting. u all are in my thoughts and prayers. god bless. amanda baird, ireland

Uncle Skip is still with me in that he gave me (and likely all of us) all sorts of wonderful memories, stories, adventures, adoration, and fun times. He is a man I admire and always have since I was a little kid and he let me drive the boat on the Georgetown paper route. I have so many absolutely great memories of him that I will carry his lessons on to my newphews and neices someday. He was the "cool" uncle that taught my brothers and I to ride dirt bikes, to waterski, to throw horse...

I have such a special place in my heart for Skipper. He will never be gone in my mind. His spirit will always live on for our family. Skipper as a young teen-ager visited my grandmother often and she was so fond of him. Bill and I reunited our relationship with Skip and Kay while Bill was atending Montana Tech. We both got married at the same time in fact Kay wore my wedding veil at her wedding. We both had four children and spent meny weekeds skiing and singing Christmas Carols together on...

I knew Skip only as Kay's choosen one. That told me he was very special. Since I live across the continent I only met Skip once, however it was obvious to me that he and Kay were devoted to each other. My prayers are for Kay now that Skip is with his Maker. May the healing/greiving process be only what she can bear. I know now the world seems dark, strange, and Kay must feel lost and alone. This is pure hell, but, it will eventualy melt like the ice bergs and the daffodils will bloom...

Dear Kay and Family,

Meeting and getting to know you and Skip was one of the highlights of our cruise to and around the Hawaiian Islands. Skip was always so friendly and cheerful. We found him kind and generous, and a joy to be around. His love for you was evident in his actions and his words. He was a prince of a man, and one day the two of you will again be vacationing together.

Warm regards,
Jackie and Sharon Smith
