Soladan Valentine, better known as “Dane,” was born August 23,
1945. She was a Head Start teacher who enjoyed working with early
childhood learners. She was a devoted member of Mount Bethel
Baptist Church for over 70 years.



She leaves to cherish her memories; three daughters, Angee Valentine
Burd of North Little Rock, AR, Ronica Valentine Stamper of Carville,
LA, and Ashley Valentine of Sunshine, LA; four grandsons, Keone
Burd Baton Rouge, LA, Kentrelle Burd, North Little Rock, AR,
Raydon Stamper Carville, LA, Dakota Stamper Kenner, LA; three
great-grandchildren, Khamille Burd, Kannon Burd, Khalani Burd
Baton Rouge; three sisters, Linda (Melvin) Craige, Sr., St. Gabriel, LA,

Valentine, Jr.; sisters, Gladys McDonald, Caroline Smith, and Viola
Holmes; brothers, Oscar, Henry and Sosthan Monroe, Sr.; father and
mothers-in-law, Spencer and Gertrude Valentine and Ethel Valentine;
brother-in-law, Joe Valentine; and sister -in-law, Elenor Valentine.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Auntie Dane. I cherish the memories with her, but especially the smile of recognition and warm hug she gave me in early July. Those who knew her loved her. Trust in God and support one another in this sorrowful time. You are in my prayers .
