GONZALEZ, Soledad 'Grandma' - Of Swartz Creek, age 96, died Monday, April 21, 2003 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM Saturday, April 26, 2003 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road in Swartz Creek, Father Amos Wischmeyer and Father James B. Bettendorf officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association, St. Mary Catholic Church or St. Leo Catholic Church. Visitation 6-8PM Thursday and 1-4 and 6-9PM Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A scripture service will be held at 6:30PM Friday at the funeral home. Soledad was born in Mexico City, Mexico on April 16, 1907 and was a resident of the Flint area most of her life. She married Augustine Gonzalez October 1929 in Mexico City. Surviving are her 4 children, Lucy and husband Leonard Guerra of South Lake, Texas, Alice Garza of Swartz Creek, Irma and husband Eli Macciomei of Flushing, Mireya and husband Robert Mackovyak of Ortonville; 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Ione Gonzalez of Flint. She was preceded in death by her husband, Augustine, in 1952; son, Albert; son-in-law, Alfonzo Garza; granddaughter, Theresa Powell and grandson, David Guerra.
