Sonja touched many hearts with her kindness and filled many bellies with her incredible cooking. We all feel a tremendous loss because Sonja lived well and loved well. We can be better people because of Sonja's mark on our hearts, by following her example of hospitality and love for others.

Not sure what to say?

Sonja, I miss you every day. I miss having Sunday dinner at your home. I miss going on fun field trips and trying new things with you. The cooking classes, spending time at the Wishka house, and so much more. But most of all I miss your loving kindness and bright smile. You always made everyone feel important and nobody ever left hungry. You are a gem. I hope soon to begin Sunday dinners at my home to carry your tradition. Thanks for teaching me about true hospitality. Last weekend Clad took...

Sonja I have a very fond and joyful memory Id like to remind you of and let everyone know that you did this to me.... We were having Easter dinner at Grandma Leah's house and while everyone one was off playing, talking, or napping Sonja was at the table all by herself. She was sitting there carving the plate of butter into the shape of a sitting FROG. Then at dinner when we were all sitting around the table I asked Sonja to pass me some butter (thinking she would have to destroy the lovely...

From the Dacha to Stretch Island Sonja was always smiling and quick to bring a second helping of food,  joking that "i was too skinny." She was ready for adventure, we used to catch giant grasshoppers in jars at Stretch Island. Sony was a good friend of my moms so I saw her often. I made some mistakes over the years, but  she saw me for me, non-
judgemental and forgiving , kind and happy . Thats how I strive to be . Wish I coulda seen her again but shes in a better place. My heart goes out...

Sonja, I have known you since the B-2 days (mid 80's) You were such a positive and upbeat person always having a kind word. I remember going back and forth between the two building and how in the winter it was so cold and then when we finally got a truck, the heater didn't work very good...We couldn't wait for the summer but then it was too hot...We had a good time then. When I got transferred to were you were working, you greeted me like a lost friend.I will always consider you a friend. God...

Gone to soon . You will be missed

Aunt Sony, I am eternally grateful to you for taking such great care of our families, I will never forget it. Don't worry about us, we will follow your example and do our best to take care of each other!

Sonja, I miss your laughter and your smile, and your silly comments about my salad making. You were truly the definition of a friend. I will always remember your kindness and your fun spirit. God Bless. Love Mary R.

Sorry you had to leave us so soon. It was a pleasure to have known you and I will see you on the other side.

sonya was a great person and will be missed by myself and all of my family members. She will be remembered by me as one of the kindest person that I have ever met. My condolences to her family.
