Sonja Victoria Egerdahl, 92, of Villa Vista Nursing Home, Cromwell, Minn., formerly of Floodwood, Minn., died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake, Minn. Sonja was born on Nov. 30, 1915 in Luverne, Minn., to August and Hilma (Anderson) Asp. As a young child, she moved with her family to Floodwood, Minn., and graduated from Floodwood High School in 1934. Sonja attended Duluth School of Practical Nursing, where she received L.P.N., and was employed with Miller Dwan Hospital in Duluth, for many years. On April 1, 1967, she was united in marriage to Ernest Egerdahl in Two Harbors, Minn. Sonja and Ernie lived in Two Harbors, Minn., for awhile and later moved back to Floodwood Area. She loved cooking, sewing, knitting, gardening, traveling, especially to Sweden to visit her relatives, photography and spending time with family and friends at her cottage on Prairie Lake. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, where she was active in her circle. Also, she was a member of the American Cancer Society, Prairie Lake Improvement Association, and a photography club in Duluth. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest; her brother, Roger Asp; her sister, Helen Asp; and two step daughters, Karen Jackson and Kathy Mausolf. Survived by sister-in-law, Marilyn Asp of Blaine, Minn.; nephew, Jonathan (Michelle) Asp of Superior, Wis.; niece, Rebecca Asp of Floodwood, Minn.; grand nieces, Angela Garbett, Lauren Palmer, Taylor Newton, and Emily Asp; grand nephews, David, Karl, and Kenneth Asp; step granddaughter, Tammy Wilson; step grandson, Jason Mausolf; step great granddaughters, Sonja and Kelcie Wilson; step great grandson, Hunter Wilson VISITATION:10 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008, until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service in Hope Lutheran Church, Floodwood, Minn. Rev. C. Owen Christianson will officiate. Burial will be at Hope Lutheran Cemetery, Floodwood, Minn. Arrangements are by Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, Minn.
