Synchronicity. I'm now finishing work on a book about my archaeological research at the "Lighthouse" site in Barkhamsted, Connecticut. One of the founders of the community was James Chaugham, a Narragansett man from Block Island. Sonja conducted research for me on the island and found the Chaugham family name and even the existence of a little boy named James in 1740. Sonja was a student of mine in the Department of Anthropology at Central Connecticut State University. A non-traditional student who returned to school after raising a family, Sonja became an indispensable member of the department.
