SOPHIE ANN HENDERLONG Valparaiso, Indiana Sophie Ann Henderlong, age 85, of Valparaiso (Liberty Township) passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Horton VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso, IN. Sophie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved to play Bingo and Polka dance. Sophie was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and Our Savior Mission Parish, where she served as treasurer, and helped to organize many activities. She is survived by 4 daughters: Eileen Wells-Wilson (Ed Wilson) of Knoxville, TN; Bonnie Larkin of Flagstaff, AZ; Darlene (Rick) Lawson of Valparaiso; and Linda Heath of Chicago, IL. Other survivors are: 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Stella Malarz of Elk Grove Village, IL; sister-in-law Jean Pacyga; brother-in-law, Don Bernhagen; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Sophie was preceded in death by parents, Joseph & Julia (Cygan) Pacyga; 11 siblings; husband, Robert; and son, Ronald. Memorial contributions can be made to Our Savior Mission Parish. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 - 9 PM at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Rd, Hobart, IN 46342. The Funeral Mass will be Monday, June 29, 2009 at 10:00 am at Our Savior Mission Parish, 3547 Michigan Avenue, Hobart, IN 46342, Very Rev. Edward Meus officiating.
