I was saddened to learn of Sophie's death. The two of you gave me a great gift during my time at Central Michigan University. I will always remember the time Maddi and I spent at your home for Passover.

Periodically , I used to search, in Internet, for Sophie, with no luck. Today I read of her decease. She was my professor and mentor, back in 1973, at CMU. I was her student from Santiago, Chile. Dear Robert,

I was deeply saddened to learn of Sophie's passing. I have many fond memories of our times together at Michigan Psychoanalytic Council meetings and classes. She will be missed. I hold you in my thoughts.

The Association for Play Therapy, a natinal professional society, extends its genuine sympathies to the family and friends of Sophie Lovinger. Sophie served on several of our committees and on the editorial board of our peer-reviewed journal. We will miss her sharp mind and good humor!
