Not sure what to say?

My condolences to the family on the loss of your loved one. May the God of all comfort be with you during your time of sorrow. (Psalm 145:19)

At Nisei-week festival at Nishihonganji 7/ 2012

There was only one reason why I could not attend her funeral and that in fact did happen. I am so distressed I cannot personally share my condolences with MATSUMOTO Sensei's family. As her student since 1985 she has gifted me an extraordinary experience of Chado.. I know she will rest in peace. Gassho.

My sincere condolences to the family of Ms. Sosei Shizuye Matsumoto. We used to address her "Suzy-san." She was such an open hearted Tea Person and made people feel always welcomed.
Suzy-san, the Grand Dame of Tea, introduced a joy of Chanoyu to so many people with her unique and lovely personality. Her warm and beautiful smile will be missed.

Sosei Matsumoto was my tea ceremony teacher, my mentor, a friend, and most of all, only one of two Chajins (tea people) I had the great pleasure to know.

I met my husband through her, experienced tea ceremony life in Kyoto, learned about life, taught with her and met so many tea friends. We shared tea ceremony with the community through tea demonstrations, narration, and special events like Nisei Week.

But the special times working with fellow classmates setting up,...

My condolences to your family for your loss. May God be your strength in this time of deep sorrow. (Psalms 18:6)
