Not sure what to say?

He taught us science at Cornell High School. I remember his story about the frog who would jump out of boiling water unless it was in cold water that was gradually heated. It would adapt until it boiled to death. He told my mom, a waitress, that the skin of a potato was more nutritious than the starch inside and she invited him into the kitchen to help himself. He was an entertaining teacher, and full of energy and enthusiasm on his first job.

Spencer was a great guy. He was my cousin - we grew up together and had many many laughs. I am sorry that I didn't hear about his death until almost a year later and wish I could have attended his funeral.

He was a good coach, hunter, and friend. Class of 66.....

Spence we will miss you. We will miss you driving around town in you great car and especially at Flat Creek where we spend lots of time talking and sitting outside and laughing and solving the problems of the world. Judge Judy bartender.

I am saddened at the loss of a great teacher and great man, Mr. Spence Joki. He always made it enjoyable to be at school (in his classes). He was a jokester. Not only did I have him as a teacher but he entrusted me to babysit his boys. I wish more children would have had the opportunity to have you as a teacher. You will be missed, Mr. Joki but never forgotten. Rest in Peace.
