I can´t say this in past tense because then it´s real. You would bring me to school even if you were late. You showed me what it meant to be a friend. You show me what it means to be authentic. We grew apart when you moved, but I always assumed we would get another coffee, go explore. Until we meet again.

I spent Halloween with spencer last year, me and my two friends and drew. We went back to his house and he made us a tray of cheese and crackers. He told us about how much he loves his mom as he was giving us a house tour. He talked very highly about her and said she was his best friend. I didn´t speak to Spencer much after that weekend but he was the type of person to leave a never forgetting impression.

Spencer and I had a few dinners together and he loved the frozen margaritas. I was going to see him this weekend. I told him in the hospital on Saturday night I owe him a dinner. May the happy memories of him help his family and friends in the days ahead. Darin Suhs on Johns Island
