STAVROPOULOS, Spiros Spiros Stavropoulos, 87, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Eleftheria (Tsireklas), died Tuesday, (October 5, 2010) at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Messolongos, Greece, son of the late Fotios and Aphrodite (Harovas) Stavropoulos. Spiros had lived in Wethersfield for over 30 years and was a longtime member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Hartford. Besides his wife, Spiros is survived by two sons, Theodoros Stavropoulos and his wife Maria of Marlborough and Fotios (Fred) Stavropoulos and his wife Donna of Moosup, six grandchildren, Nicholas, Mary, Kleanthi, Aphrodite, Eleftheria and Yeorgia and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, John Stavropoulos and two sisters, Niki Karamesinis and Katerina Katsapis. The funeral will be Friday, (October 8, 2010) at 11 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave., Hartford. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Visiting hours will be Thursday, (October 7, 2010) from 5-8 p.m. at Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield, with a Trisayion Service at 7:30 p.m. Contributions in his memory can be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave., Hartford, CT 06114.
