SSGT. Eduardo Perez Casanova Jr., born on April 2, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas, went to be with the Lord on April 12, 2024 at the age of 71. He is preceded in death by his father, Eduardo Casanova Sr. and his aunt, Raquel Ruiz.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Aurora Casanova; his mother, Pauline Ruiz Casanova; daughters, Sandra Casanova Medina and husband Marco, Raquel Aurora Casanova, Vanessa Casanova Gehardt; sons, Eduardo P. Casanova III and wife Kyree, Alfred Perez Casanova and wife Maria Isabel; siblings, Pedro Villa and wife Nancy, Felisa Casanova Fuentes and husband Eduardo. He was blessed with beautiful grandchildren; Brooke Wedhorn Gray, Nicholas Casanova, Krystal Wedhorn, Dorian Casanova, Damien Casanova, Aurora Casanova, Jeremy Rodriguez, Chloe Holbrook, Jonathan Garcia Casanova, Fernando Casanova, and Micah Casanova, along with countless extended family and friends.
Although he was unexpectedly taken before his family was ready to let him go, he did live a fulfilling life. He saw the world during his years of service with the United States Marine Corp and the Texas Air National Guard 149th Fighter Wing, traveling to places such as Japan and Turkey. After retirement, he continued his love for mechanics in employment with Boeing Center and Gore Design. Eduardo worked hard to provide a comfortable and content life for his family. When he was not working, he kept busy with friends and family. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball, his family in tow to cheer him on. In his later years, he could be found cheering for his kids and grandkids from the sidelines or barbecuing for family celebrations. And at any time, anywhere, with anyone that wanted to, he could be found with a rod and reel in his hand searching for the best fishing spots in Texas. He continues to be loved beyond measure and will be greatly missed.
