Owens and Brumley Funeral Home - Wichita Falls Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Staci Rae Wright-Williams.  Staci was born June 5, 1968, to William ‘Cletis’ Wright and Sandra Raye (Ingram) Wright-Stubbs.  She was 56 years old at the time of her passing and a resident of Grand Prairie, TX.

Prior to her birth, Staci’s father passed away and her mother later married Ray Bernard Stubbs. Ray and Staci had a special bond, and he embraced her as one of his own. Those that knew Staci, knew she was always the life of the party.  She could make anyone laugh, no matter the circumstance.  Her sense of humor and crazy antics earned her the nickname “goober” which was affectionately given to her by her dad and shared by many close friends and family.

Staci spent most of her life as a resident of Wichita Co, graduating from Iowa Park High School in 1986.  Shortly after graduation she proudly joined the ranks of the United States Marine Corp.  She attended bootcamp at Camp Lejune NC and was stationed at Camp Pendelton CA and Camp Butler in Okinawa Japan.  After her initial enlistment, Staci was called up again and served a tour in Desert Storm.  Her service to our country was something she was incredibly proud of; however, she was most proud of her children, Karli Kaye Lutz, Thomas ‘Gage’ Wheeler and Shelbi Rae Fulfer.

Following her service in the Marine Corp., Staci followed in her mother’s footsteps and returned to college, graduating from Midwestern State University with her Bachelor of Applied Science and became a Registered Nurse, a career she enjoyed until her passing.

Staci was preceded in death by her father, William ‘Cletis’ Wright; her mother, Sandra Raye (Ingram) Stubbs; father, Ray Bernard Stubbs; brothers, William ‘Carey’ Wright and Jackie Lee Stubbs.  Most recently Staci suffered the sudden, devastating loss of her oldest daughter, Karli Kaye Lutz.

Staci is survived by her son, Thomas ‘Gage’ Wheeler and wife Tara; grandchildren, Brynlee and Waylon of Iowa Park, TX; daughter, Shelbi Fulfer and husband Payton; grandchildren, Banks and Bennett of Wichita Falls, TX; granddaughter, Kayelee Cleavland of Ovilla, TX; brother, Scott Stubbs and wife Debbie of Iowa Park, TX; sister, Marcie Wood and husband Buddy of Eldorado, OK; special cousin, Terri Lynette Garner of Granbury, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Staci’s life will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Lakeview Church of God in Iowa Park with Pastor Mark Gentry, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.owensandbrumley.com

You were such an inspiration Stacie. I love you. And miss you! We will see you again on the other side! With love, Autumn and Tracey

Work wasn’t always my favorite place to be but on the days I saw Staci on the schedule, it instantly got better. She had this way of making everything feel less like work and more like being around someone who just got you.

We bonded over our love for oversized, ridiculous dogs. Lovable beasts that were somehow always in the way and somehow perfect at the same time. Swapping dog stories with her was like a therapy session and a comedy show rolled into one.

She was such a...
