Stacy Stack Obituary

MONROE -- Mr. Stacy B. Stack, age 66, of Monroe, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2002 at Mercy Hospital in Downtown Charlotte.
Mr. Stack was born June 14, 1936 in Union County, and was the son of the late Shelly and Ola Stack. His son, Randy Stack, whom he loved dearly,also preceded Stacy in death. Mr. Stack was a life long member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was also involved in numerous organizations, such as The Ellen Fitzgerald Senior Center, where he and his wife would travel with many close friends. Stacy also was a member of the Carolina's Couples and Singles Dance Club. After 31 years of faithful service to Charlotte Pipe and Foundries, Stacy retired and then became a member of the Charlotte Pipe and Foundries Retirees Club, an organization where Stacy was very active. Mr. Stack also retired from Tyson Poultry after 25 years of service. Besides being a cattle farmer, Stacy loved the beach and was also an avid fan of bluegrass music. Stacy will truly be missed by all his friends and by the many lives he touched during his life.
Stacy is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Joy Stack of the home, one son, Gary Stack, and a friend Tracy Harrington, Monroe, NC; one daughter, Vicky S. McCraney, and her husband, Jim of Hope Mills, NC; five brothers, Wade Stack, of Pageland, SC, Ervin stack, of Lexington, SC, Kenneth, Tommy, and Shelly Jr. Stack, all of Monroe, NC; three sisters, Wency S. Bound, of Concord, NC, Patsy Talbert, of Fort Mill, SC, and Carol Little of Midland, NC; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Stack Isaman, of Pageland, SC, Kendra Stack Medlin, of Lancaster, SC, Brandon McCraney of Raleigh, NC, Brent McCraney, of Greenville, NC, Chad Stack, of Waxhaw, NC, Ashley Joy McCraney, of Hope Mills, NC, and Stephen Stack, of Mineral Springs, NC; seven great grandchildren and several very special nieces and nephews. Mr. Stack was such a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather he will be truly missed by his family.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 25, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in the Oak Grove Baptist Church to celebrate the life of Mr. Stack with the Rev. Rich Myers and the Rev. D.T. Bud Griffin officiating. Entombment will following the Lakeland Memorial Park Mausoleum. The Stack family will receive friends at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe on Sunday, November 24, 2002 from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
