Not sure what to say?

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Stanford. I don't get the paper so I didn't hear about this. I am a Cazier myself, Verl and NaVon's daughter. It's aways sad to see a Cazier passing, that's just one less in the Cazier line.

I'm sorry to hear of the passing of a great mentor and friend. I was a graduate assistant for him in the history department at USU in 1966. He was, in large measure, responsible for my career as a history teacher at Snow College for 44 years. He told me about the position opening and then wrote a strong recommendation for me. I tried to model my teaching style after his and I credit much of my success as a teacher to him. He will be missed.

As a life long learner, it has been a tremendous inspiration for me when I heard him say at a commencement address when he was president of USU, that we get an education to help us appreciate life.

We are sorry to learn of the death of this good friend, colleague, and mentor. I was a history major at Utah State University and had several classes from Stanford Cazier. He was the model to follow in terms of being a good teacher and professor. We are away now as missionaries for the LDS Church. We ask the Lord to guide and watch over the Cazier family.
Sincerely, Elder Jay D. and Sister Karren Schvaneveldt

I am Stanford's first cousin we grew up in Nephi,Utah & beyond. Due to circumstances I was raised by our maternal beloved Grandmother Lydia S. Cazier. My mother and Stan's father were brother & sister. The home's were side by side. I can't write about Stan unless I tell about his wonderful Mother & Father,Sister & two brothers . they all were relatives to be thoroughly proud of. Stan was an exceptional human being. His accompolishments have been reported well in the newspaper of Utah.

I am sorry to hear of Pres. Cazier's passing. I remember him well and was privileged to interview him for the USU student newspaper. I was just an amateur, but he always treated me with respect. What's more, he took a very personal interest in the students. Once I was in the student center cafeteria and heard my name. A few tables away Pres. Cazier was telling someone else about what he enjoyed from one of our conversations. It made my day to be acknowledged by someone of his caliber....

My husband and I are so saddened. Truthfully, he was one of our heroes, in so many ways.

We thought so much of Dr. Cazier. He is much of the reason Paul went into History himself and became a teacher. Paul was priviledged to work under Dr. Cazier as a T.A. at Utah State about 1965. We had him in our home (pre-fabs) several times. One time which was interesting and funny was when we served him cake and he kept dropping pieces off the plate onto the floor. One of our sons -- who was 4 years old at the time -- said "Why does that man keep dropping his cake?" We told him later...

At USU in the mid-60s when I was very often prone to skipping class, Dr. Cazier's history lectures were the only ones I looked forward to and never missed. His passion was contageous and eventually developed in me a love of history I continue to enjoy. He was easily one of the very best professors I every had and I am sorry to read of his passing.
