I just learned of Stan's passing through The Missouri Engineer, the MO Society of Professional Engineers' monthly magazine. As a member of the St. Louis Chapter of MSPE for many years I remember Stan very well and how welcoming and mentoring he was to young engineers. He was a wonderful human and credit to his profession. I am so sorry for your loss.

Stan hired me at Harland Bartholomew in 1978. He mentored me well and promoted the engineering capabilities of the firm with style and skill. After we parted, I wish I had thanked him for his efforts on my behalf--a good man that I am proud to have known.
