Not sure what to say?

As an older student at bother GCC and HCC, I realized that the most comprehensive educational experience was to be had as a student of a teacher with a PhD. And of all the PhD's that taught me, I remember Dr. Dunny as the one who could most easily get across to me the intricate processes of Chemistry. I learned today quite by accident of his death. I share condolences with his family, and all his students. May he rest in peace. Amen.

Dr. Dunny was my Organic Chemistry professor at HCC in 1972. I was not a traditional student. I am one of eight children recently completing 2 years in the US Army. Organic Chem was a huge challenge for me and Dr. Dunny was able to see that I could understand the concepts and principals however, my math skills were holding me back. He asked me to meet with him and explained why my test scores were not where they should be. He asked me to meet with him after classes for several weeks. ...

Dave I am sad to hear of the passing of your brother. He was a great teacher, I had him for chemistry at HCC - 55 yrs ago. He cared for his students and was always available to give help. He was a special teach and greater person.

I am so sorry to hear about Dr. Dunny's passing. He was a great guy. I was a former student of his for Organic Chemistry 1 and 2, also had the 2 labs with him also. He was such a smart man who helped me learn such hard topics. My friend and I still laugh to this day about the memories we made in his classes. Rest in peace Dr. Dunny, you will be missed and always remembered.

I had the pleasure to have Dr. Dunny for an Organic chemistry course. I was intimidated by the course, I had multiple courses to complete for my physical therapy degree. It was the most difficult course I had. Dr. Dunny was a gentleman, kind and patient. I have never forgotten him. He was a wonderful professor, always kind, patient, lovely man, God bless him, I thank him, a special place in Heaven for Dr. Dunny.

No words can express my sadness over the passing of Dr. Dunny! I was lucky enough to have worked for him all my adult life and a few years in my youth. An excellent teacher and dear friend. Rest in peace .

The best and most compassionate college educator anyone could ever ask for. It´s been nearly 50 years, but always a friendly greeting when out and about would encounter each other. Rest in peace in the arms of the Lord.
