My condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Finkel. I was an emergency patient of his in the late 60´s when I was just 9 years old. He was an amazing doctor and I will always remember him. Thank you for sharing his life story as it was nice to learn about his life. He actually saved my eye from what could have been very devastating ordeal and I will be forever be grateful that he saved my eyesight. I´m sorry that I did not know about his passing away earlier. Not sure if you'll see this a year after your loss, but our dads served together in Bitburg in the 60s. I had a very nice interaction with Stan when my dad Fred Brandlin passed in 2015. They maximized being stationed in Germany and I remember your dad's warmth and conviviality. You did a great job with this obit. Lisa Brandlin Maslyn, near Rochester NY

I found a connection with Dr. Finkel though we never met. My father also was born in Hlusk and presumedly immigrated to this country about the same time as Dr. Finkel's He and I were both born in 1931, were in service same years and took residencies in the service. I was at Walter Reed for internal medicine after serving in Germany 57-59. Finished my service in San Antonio at Brooke General Hospital, 1965. My wife of 64 years passed away a few years. My partner who saw Dr. Finkel's...
