My deepest sympathies to the Goodman family. Mr. Goodman created a great store because he considered family first. I know he made each one of his customers feel like a member of the family and that's why my mother was a customer for over 40 years, passing on the legacy to her daughters.

I was saddened to hear about the passing of Mr. Goodman. I just hear today after running into Mrs. Goodman at the bank. I was always received as one of their own sons in their home. We love you all.

When my wife and I ran into Mrs. Goodman today at the bank, I had not heard about the loss of Mr. Goodman. Knowing the family for over 40 years, Mr. Goodman always welcomed me into his house and family as one of his own. We will be praying for the family.

I have fond memories of Mr. Goodman from my teens in the late 60's. He and Lena dealt lovingly but tough with their houseful of kids (and their friends). My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mr. Goodman was a great teacher, father, husband, and visionary. He developed a unique paternalistic approach to everything - I came to call it "a skeptical embrace" (his natural instincts were to believe in people, but experience taught him to "verify"). The creator of the very definition of the phrase "Family Business" - the "family" was all encompassing and wildly extended. Nearly all of us with contact felt like part of the family (an exceptionally rare thing among members of the vendor...

I am sorry for your loss. I never knew him, but heard wonderful things from his three sons. He lives on in their memories and in the memories of all who knew him
