I think of Stanley often. Brilliant, musical, but most of all KIND.

I still think of Stan often and wish he were still here. Few are as kind and brilliant.

Stan will always have a place in my heart and in my music. Whenever I work on a new song, I wonder, "Would Stan like this?" His support of my fledgeling songwriting efforts sustains me to this very day.

Dear Stan, Every time I play my McPherson guitar, or write a song, or read a music review, I think of you; your kindness, your encouragement, your crazy sense of humor, your brilliance. I hope you´re pickin´ and grinnin´ with Ralph Stanley and Doc Watson in Music Heaven.

Sorry to learn of Stan's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Bea, so sorry for your loss. RIP Stan

I met Stan when I was just 14 years old -- the best friend of his little sister Andrea. He was the quintessential big-hearted, big brother. I will always remember his love for folk music at that time and how we would listen to him play with such joy. I am so glad to learn from the NY Times that he lived a full and rewarding life and that he had the blessings of a loving family. I hope to reconnect with his great sister Andrea some day soon. Our days on earth are so few. Where are you Andrea?...

RIP Stan. You will be remembered by so many artists who bought their treasures -- or even just WISH they could buy them! -- stocked in your treasure house. Great guy--you will be missed.
