I would like to share my memories of growing up with Mitch in North Everett. My Mom (Maggie) and Virginia were best of friends. Mitch and I graduated from Immaculate Conception School in 1959 and Everett High in 1962.
When I drive down Grand to see Dad, I always remember the birthday parties at his childhood home. His Mom always served a "money cake" and the party favor was always a wooden airplane. We would all fly them on the empty lot next to his house. I keep such a plane on my desk at home to this day.
I remember the many times that we would go down to his Dad's office at English's Ice Cream parlor to visit him and get ice cream as well. Stan was my only insurance agent beginning when I was in High School until he passed away.
My teenage memory of Mitch that stands out happened on September 24,1960. I tuned 16 on the 19th and Mom and I went to the State Patrol that Saturday to get my license. That night I asked Dad if I could take the car. He said, "don't take it past 41st or out of town". We were riding around and wanted to go to a party in Snohomish that night. I told the guys I couldn't take our car so we talked Brian Burt into taking his Dad's car. There were 8 of us in the station wagon as we came down the hill from Forest Park by Ball's Grocery. It was raining very hard and Brian lost contol. We rolled the car upside down in a yard one block from Rucker. No one was hurt. We all went to Mass the next day and often talked of how we could have been killed that night. Lucky for us.
It was the best of times growing up with great pal's like Mitch.

Shared many years of great friendship and fun with Stan and Anne. Always enjoyed Stan's engaging personality and quick wit.
"Mitch" will be missed.

What a tremendous loss of a very caring, special guy. My condolence to Anne and the family for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I will miss his "just a 5 minute" conversation that would turn into an hour, which would fly by as he was fun to talk with, great sense of humor.
