A Logan farm boy may have surprised even himself to be in a big city premier medical school (Northwestern in Chicago) and then an internship/residency in the oldest and still one of the best medical schools (U. of Penn. in Philadelphia) where Sir William Ostler walked the halls 150 years ago.
