Stanley Szypkowski, 83, Duluth, died Aug. 21, 2008 at Bayshore Nursing Home. He was born in Tokarina, Poland on April 9, 1925 to John and Maria Szypkowski. Stanley married Anna Stepein in Augsburg, Germany on Oct. 19, 1948 and emigrated to America in 195l. He was a survivor of World War II and many hardships in between. He had worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 36 years, retiring as a switchman in 1986. Stanley was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church where he served as an usher and the Friars of St. Francis. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Anna; daughters, Helen and Stella; sons, Joe and Chuck and numerous grand and great-grandchildren. VISITATION:3 to 5 p.m. Sunday with Friars of St. Francis Rosary at 4:30 p.m. all in Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home. Visitation continues at 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Monday in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial at Polish Cemetery.

was so sorry to hear of stanleys passing I just saw him the week before. We were in the cities that is why we weren't at the funeral. Our hearts go out to all of you. Willie is very sorry too, stanley was like a grandfather
