Stanley W. Wierzba (72) who resided in Langford, NY and Ft. Myers, FL passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 8, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Stanley, fondly known as Stan or Sonny is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 54 years Peggy (nee Bianchi), and their four children Robert (Aimee Linn), Ellen (Matthew) Della Penna, Jerry (Sarah), and Debbie Ehnes. He is the cherished Papa of Allison (Joseph) Saladino, Griffin Della Penna, Clayton, Phoenix & Raven Wierzba, Tristan & Payton Ehnes.  He is also survived by his siblings Joyellen (late Floyd) Knoll and Rich Pratt, Nancy Wierzba Sickau, Terry (Tammy) Wierzba, Marilyn (Carter) Davis, Larry Wierzba, Jack (Candy) Wierzba, brothers-in-law John (Marie) Bianchi and Wayne (Barbara) Bianchi, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.  He will be missed by special friends Donald & Sally Fox and family, Mike & Kim Beres and family, and countless others who loved, respected, and admired him. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents Stanley & Elsie (Preischel), foster brother John Durnin, sister-in-law Bonnie Gabel, and in-laws Carl and Jean Bianchi, Carl Jr., Nancy, Robert, Bernie, Kevin and Maria Bianchi. Sonny spent his hard-working life farming produce and dairy and later became a welding fabricator. He founded Alloy Welding & Fabricating in 1982 and became a highly regarded steel fabricator where he worked until retirement. Since then he has been employed by Fox Construction.  Friends may call for a memorial visitation on Thursday, February 29th from 4-8 PM at Wentland Funeral Home 10634 Main Street North Collins, NY. A memorial mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, March 1 at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Oratory 8175 East Eden Road Eden, NY. Please assemble at church. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
