Dad: Fifteen years have passed, along with your 100th birthday. We celebrated it along with mom's. I wish that my brothers and you could get back together with me for that famous foursome and a round of golf, followed by lunch.....Best times of our lives....

We all miss you...

The Esso oil tanker Providence was hit by a bomb at 7:30 a.m. that morning, August the 25th of 1943.
Dad sailed close by on the American Trader.
Four bombs fell the next day at 3:30 p.m. just missing the
able-bodied seaman that shared his nickname of Legs, with an infamous criminal from the 1920’s known as Legs Diamond.
While the criminal got his name running from the authorities,
Dad’s nickname was a direct reference to his long, swift-moving, powerful legs that...
