Not sure what to say?

Dr Wolpert was a great noble soul. He devoted his life to studies in South Asian history, and India in particular. His authorly contributions on Gandhi and Nehru and the Indian freedom movement in general are momentous. WE in India will never forget his valuable contribution to Indian historical studies. He has earned a well-deserved place in immortality.

I was very saddened to read about Prof Wolpert's passing . I took a year seminar class with him and it was a wonderful and enriching experience! My wife and I have a friend, Dolores Martin, who babysat for Stanley and Dorothy. She has many fond memories and is also saddened by his passing. I was also proud to see Stanley and Dorothy s name on Human Rights activities. He will be greatly missed.

I am Dr BSM Murty, Retd Prof of English(India). My grief is unfathomable. Dr Wolpert had inspired & enthused me in writing my biography of Rajendra Prasad:First President of India. I went &presented a copy to the UCLA International Centre. I am deeply grieved that I came to LA 3 months too late as Dr Wolpert had already expired in Feb,2019. My obituary tribute can be read on my blog - vibhutimurty.blogspot.com.

Rest in eternal.
A great loss for all
Sincerest condolences to all the family.

May his soul Rest In eternal peace.

Highly grieved at sad news about my great teacher and mentor at UCLA. Dr. Wolpert got me to write a paper on "A Solution to Kashmir Problem", which is unfortunately once again the reason for yet another potential war between the two South Asian counties, which no one knew better than him. Dr. Wolpert used to go around saying: "Hamid is going to find me a solution to Kashmir and I will get him the Nobel Peace Prize". Dr. Wolpert you will be missed dearly by your family, friends and students,...

My sincere condolences to Dorothy and family.

I was honored to be a member of UCLA's "Project India" teams in both 1963 and 1968. Dr. Wolpert provided us with his scholarship and wisdom as a group of 20- year-olds headed off to the exotic land of India. We were so lucky to have known him and to have been able to absorb his knowledge and enthusiasm about that wonderful country. He will be missed by so many who came into his orbit.

My condolences to your family for your loss. May God be your strength in this time of deep sorrow. (Psalms 18:6)
