I fondly remember my friend "Buddy" Putnam. I was a lonely high school dropout working in Whitin Machine Works. We discovered that we shared a love for music and the arts. I enlisted in the USAF and back in Massachusetts on leave, he and I attended memorable performances of The Met on tour at the old Boston Opera House. I was working the day you passed away after having been away for 2 weeks. I was so upset when I found out you passed away because I did not get the chance to say goodbye to you. I took care of you many times as an aide and I enjoyed walking into your room and seeing that giant smile on your face when I would come in. The time I spent with you was wonderful and enlightening. You are the first patient I had in first time working as an aide to ever impact me so deeply. God bless...
