I was one of Stan's students at UW in the late 1970s. I was also his teaching assistant for one of those years. I appreciated his depth of knowledge in so many diverse areas and his personal support for my education. I remember one time, he treated several of us who worked in the Psycho-Education Center to dinner at a French restaurant. I tried escargot for the first and only time at his insistence!
