Not sure what to say?

I miss you, Stanton. Going way back to Dawes Drug Store, you worked with my husband John Crooks and his brother Jim. You were so personable and sweet that made you a likely guy I wanted to be near. A morning hi from Gaffneys as I did the morning walk to hello at the merry go round as I worked there and you were working at the Casino. Miss you and I’m glad we were friends to the end.

Stanton was the Washington and Franklin Street neighbor and playmates of my father Edward Delay, and his brothers Jim and Johnny Delay in the 1930's and 1940's. A diplomat to all. I was pleased to help him with a bit of his moving from Caroline Street to his new place on Broadway. His awareness and memory of Senator Brackett, his son the screenwriter Charles Brackett, Jim Leary, Governor Dewey, Minnie Bolster, all his west side neighbors, and his family and the Delaware & Hudson was...

I was one of customers at Saratoga Men’s Shop. More recently,I frequently exchanged good mornings or good afternoons as I walked to or from work and passed him sitting in front of his home in his lawn chair.
I remember seeing him at the Floral Fete Parade in celebration of Saratoga 150. He came up to me and said he hadn’t seen that many people in downtown Saratoga since VE Day! Always a pleasure to talk to. He will be missed

So sorry to hear about Stanton´s death. He was a very special person:). We miss him:)

RIP Stanton you will be missed

Saratoga has lost the icon of kindness, charity, fashion, manners, humility, and utter graciousness. My sincere condolences to all who were fortunate to have Stanton share his joyful life with them. My heart hurts....I know that if there´s an afterlife, Stanton will have the best bling!

You will always be a beloved member of the Mahar Clan, who's connection to you goes back well into the 1930's. I will miss you my friend, more than words can express and more than the heart can hold. "Toodaloo, for now"! ;)

That was a really engaging and informative obituary! Karen remembers Stanton from his days in the local antique business, and we both enjoyed stopping and talking to him when he held court under his umbrella on the lawn in front of John Franck's housel in his last years. We will miss him!

I loved seeing Stan at the History Museum and around town, no one like him. Will really miss him.
