Stella Mae Booker

BOOKER, Mrs. Stella Mae-age 85, of Flint, MI passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, October 10, 2014 with 10:00 am family hour at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church 1258 E. Humphrey Ave. Flint, MI 48505. Rev. Terry Randolph officiating. The final resting place for Mrs. Booker will be Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint, MI. Calling hours are 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Serenity Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Stella Mae Booker was born August 17, 1929 in Aliceville, AL the daughter of Jessie B. Manning and Ionia (Brooks) Manning. She had resided in Flint since 1949 and was also a longtime member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church serving on the Mothers Board. Mrs. Booker was a homemaker who loved to cook and enjoyed going fishing when she was able. Most of all, she loved that telephone because she loved to talk and watch her soap operas.

Mrs. Stella Mae Booker leaves to cherish her memory: son, Roy (Teri) Chambry, Jr.; daughter, Patricia Chambry; 4 grandchildren, Simone Chambry, Kendra Burks, Tara Booker, Tia Pinson; 6 great-grandchildren, Darrick Williams, Terria Booker, Autumn Booker, Malik Chambry, Maya Davis, Shatrece Davis; 5 great-great-grandchildren, Nasia Reid, Danielle Williams, Draya Williams, Zion Booker, Latazia Davis; nephews, John W. White, Douglas Arthur, Al Harris, Sid Booker; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends: Mother Mitchell, Mother Alexander and Mother Johnson.

Mrs. Stella Mae Booker was preceded in death by: husband, John R. Booker; son, John R. Booker, Jr.; parents, Jessie B. and Ionia Manning; siblings, Hugh Lee Bonner, Bertha Lee Henry and Willie B. Manning.
