Stella was such an admirable lady. Powerful and wise, yet always so humble. It broke my heart today as I drove along Rowan Ave. to see her home for sale. I cherish our phone visit years ago to catch up on the family. Stella truly touched my life. I am grateful to have known her. How comforting to know that she rests in the arms of Jesus now. Best wishes to all the family.

My mother, Doris Lane cherished her time with Stella, her lifelong friend. Doris loved visiting Stella in Spokane. Doris would stay with her sister Sandra but typically spend one night at Stella's home. Doris called it their "sleepover". She was always excited anticipating the time they would get to spend together. What an enduring friendship.... to be continued.

Stella was my sister, Doris', best friend from third grade. She was Doris' maid of honor and I was junior brides maid when she married Frank Lane. After they were both married and living in different states, they continued corresponding and staying in touch. When I moved to the Spokane area with my family, the two friend were able to meet and visit whenever Doris came to visit us. I even drove them from Spokane to Anaconda for their 60th class reunion.
