I have only known Stella for a few years. She was a sweet and welcoming neighbor. We walked together sometimes, and I always learned something from her. Even as her body was failing her, she asked about my family. She was a kind and gentle soul, and I will miss her.

I have very fond memories of Stella. We knew each other from grade school and ended up going to college together...the only two graduates from our high school that year. I ended up pledging a fraternity and one of our tasks was to bring dates to our inter-fraternity sports events. Pledges and their dates were required to wear semi-formal attire to the games.
