Apr 15, 1988 – Jan 26, 2020 (Age 31)
On Sunday morning, January 26th, 2020, Stephanie Mika Arntz's eleven-year battle with leukemia came to an impasse due to transplant complications. She is survived by her parents, Curtis and Nancy Arntz, and her older brothers, Kenny and Shawn, as well as her fiancé Alec Ludford, her grandparents, Neil and Marian Arntz, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. She was preceded in passing by her oldest cousin, Betsy Arntz, her obachan, Junko Russo, and her everloving golden retriever, Bella. Stephanie was born at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle on Friday, April 15th, 1988. She was an honor student at John F. Kennedy Memorial High School, where she competed in varsity tennis and volleyball. Her record of academic excellence continued after she was accepted as a nursing student at Seattle University. She worked on prostate cancer research at Seattle's VA hospital and performed clinicals at EvergreenHealth's radiation ward. Despite the demands of the program, she still made time to volunteer at Harborview Medical Center's Burn/Plastic clinics. She was in her second year of school when she was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. Limited by illness, but fueled by her ease to connect with others, she turned her voracious energy toward a new passion: streaming. This allowed her to share her extraordinary personality with people all over the world. It was also through streaming that Stephanie was introduced to her fiance, Alec Ludford. Alec and Stephanie's streaming communities were intimately present for Stephanie's final journey. Thank you to all who were there for Stephanie and Alec: you were an indispensable pillar of strength and comradery for them. Your impact was more than you'll ever know. Stephanie loved staying active with volleyball, jet skiing, camping, and fishing. She brought joy to everyone she touched and will be dearly missed. A memorial service for Stephanie will be held on Saturday, February 8th at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church at 10001 57th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98178. There will be a reception with light refreshments and a space of remembrance in the hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, please leave a comment and share a memory of Stephanie.

The little jar of lights you sent me sits on my fireplace mantel. I still miss you like crazy. My niece is still is fighting her cancer for many years now. You both were the same age. I miss your crazy funny free spirit and how feisty you were. Much love to your parents and brothers. Hug Bella for me. Love you Skeet Skeet!

Curtis, Nancy, Sean and Kenny thank you for the wonderful celebration of life for your dear Stephanie. She was such a little dynamo and will be missed. I found a photo from the girls St. Anthony's days, from a field trip to the Japanese Gardens. Much love

The world has lost a wonderful and selfless human. Stephanie was and will always be an inspiration to myself (and I'm sure to many others). May she now return to the universe and rest in peace. My heart goes out to Alec, and all of her family/friends who are hurting at this time.
She was beautiful, simply beautiful.
