Patty and Family,
I am very grateful to have known and worked with Steve while with OLLI - he was such a kind, smart, funny, and dedicated person, and my life is better for having known him. He had a huge impact on OLLI, and has enhanced life for many through his work. I can only imagine how saddened you all are by his passing, as I know how devoted he was to his family. He was a blessing to many, and I will always remember him.

Steve's OLLI family joins with you at this sad time of bereavement. He was a great man who did so much for others. And he always made us smile.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Stephen Appel. I did not personally know Mr. Appel, but I am moved by the selfless course he pursued in his life and his dedication for helping others succeed. These qualities have great value in the eyes of God . To the family; may the God who "binds up the brokenhearted" and "comforts those who mourn" sustain you during this very difficult time; Isaiah 61: 1, 2.

I am so sad to see this. Steve was an incredible man, a wonderful boss, and a genuinely good person. My years of working at Federated were enhanced by knowing and working for Steve.

Deepest sympathy to his entire family in his loss. He will be missed for many reasons I know.

RIP in peace Steve. You made your life count in so many ways to so many people.
