Always a good time when Steve would come to Kansas City and visit. We had a tradition of going to the Smoke Stack where he could get his fill of great BBQ. Steve and my husband Greg went to URI where they met. They hunted and fished together. Sadly, both developed Multiple Sclerosis but Steve always remained cheerful and upbeat. Marilyn Loparto

Grace, Stephen, and Tim -- Not only did I have the priviledge of working with Steve for over 20 years but was friends outside of work with him as well. I remember some Easter and Christmas Holidays at your house, happy hour at your house and my parents, club picnics and dinners, and many other happy times. Those memories will always be close to my heart and Steve will be deeply missed. My sympathy and deepest love to all of you. Lori

I will miss sharing stories with Steve, but will always treasure his friendship, and the memories of chasing birds in Lyme and elk and deer in Colorado with him. His positive attitude and ability to make the best of the hand dealt to him was a true inspiration.

Grace, Stephen, Tim,
In processing Steve´s passing, I´ve been realizing just how much he has influenced my life. Not only professionally when we worked and traveled together for many years, but also on a personal level. I hear his voice often!
I´m grateful, too, that we stayed in touch with periodic phone calls, usually on one of our birthdays or around the holidays. The last time I saw him was during one of his stays in New London. We had such a great time talking and catching up. I miss him already.

I have many fond memories of Steve and his visits out here in "fly over country". Good friends with my husband from URI, hunting together and a very long friendship that lasted for the rest of both of their lives. The fight he put up against his increasing physical limitations was awesome. He will be missed by many. My sympathy to Grace, the boys and their families. Hugs and love, Marilyn

Dear Grace, Stephen and Tim, my deepest condolences on the passing of Steve. I always enjoyed the times we spent together in our younger days. Steve was a true patriot and wonderful man. He will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. I know that no words can take away the pain you are going through during this sad time. Steve´s suffering is now in the past as he dwells in our Heavenly Father´s glorious Kingdom. May our Savior Jesus Christ bring you comfort in the coming days.
God´s Blessings,
Rev. Fr. and Uncle Brad Barco
