Not sure what to say?

It saddens me to know that we have lost one of the truly unique people I have ever known. Our days at NU and at Phi Delt were one of the joys of my life. I am sure that everyone feels as I do when we think about the stories we could tell. Late night card games and pizza were a staple of life. Even though it was 2:00A.M. Bergie had no problem proclaiming to the house over the inercom - "Hey, Hey, Berg again!" when he won. I last saw him at the Cats visit to the Rose Bowl. With Buck, Baney,...

I am sorry to hear of your loss of Steve. I was a class behind Steve 30 years ago and in the same fraternity. We were not particularly close, but I remember him well. He was a gifted athlete, a decent human being, and a man who had an outlook on life that I have only come to label over the years as "Bergesque."
One of my most vivid memories in all of college is a conversation with Steve while sitting in two opposing chairs in the living room of the fraternity house. We were both...

Steve was a very nice person, he always had a handshake for you with a nice smile when he came to town. He was one of the nicest people I have worked with at World Color. I'm sure he will be missed by all family and friends. God Bless You All. We will miss his face at Quebecor World.

I got to know Steve when we started up The Economist in Merced. My husband and I invited Steve to our home for dinner along with The Economist customers. We entertained them all with "Home Movies". Steve seemed to enjoy them as he was definitely a family man and could relate. Steve was always friendly and interested in what you were saying. He will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family during this time.

I was fortunate to work with Steve on several accounts/titles. I knew him to be a very giving person. I was so excited to talk about John Barry of the Sacramento Kings with him. The last time I was in NY he took great care of me, not being a native to the area. I'll never forget how hard I laughed during that trip when he missed a freeway connection, and his ensuing words.. Steve OFTEN talked of his family when together. He was so proud of his boys, and enjoyed any discussion around those...

I'm an account manager for QW, from the Effingham Division. I worked with Steve on Consumer Reports. I offer my condolences to the family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I enjoyed working with Steve. He will be missed. May God bless you in this difficult time.

Steve lived for and loved his wife, his boys and sports. We first worked together at Arcata, then at World Color, and finally accross the hall from each other at Quebecor World in New York. Many early mornings and evenings when I passed his office, Steve would be on the phone, on line with his family lending support or checking the boys stats.
My wife and I had dinner with him in California last fall when he visited with friends from Consumers Union. We were shocked and saddened by the...

I worked with Steve since his early days at World Color. He was a very gentle man who clearly loved his family very much- we all heard lots of great stories about his boys! My heart and prayers go out to his family during this difficult time. I hope you will be comforted by the many wonderful memories of him that I am sure each of you have.

I am very sorry for your loss. I enjoyed getting to know Steve over the past year and will miss our daily sports conversations and updates on his sons athletic endevours. My prayers are with you,
