Not sure what to say?

I went to Chapman from 2012-2018. I only met Steve once, very briefly before I even started going to Chapman but I really wish I could've had him for 5th grade. My friend Dani was lucky to have him a while back. Now, in 2024, I still wish I could've had him. Myndi, thanks for being the best LRC teacher when I was there!

Every time I am in NW Portland, I have a memory or I just think of you. I miss you bud.

Steve's early days at Pacific University. When I look at this photo my heart both soars and cries. Miss you Brando.

9 years since Steve's passing.............. *sigh*
Gone, but never forgotten by me. I still think of Steve from time to time, as I have learned from him that life can be so fragile and gone in a fleeting moment *sigh*. And because of this, I have changed the way I think of life, and how to live it. Words I live by now...................Tomorrow is Never Promised.
Namaste................

Please pass this to Steve"s family- he was a visiting student in Russia in late 80th- I and my family hosted him , and I have few photos of that time to share with the family. Pls email [email protected] Nick

Mr. Brand was and is one of my favorite teachers that I have ever had. He was the first teacher I had to teach me the art of haiku, and I still write poems with him in mind. As I prepare to go off to high school, I keep his memory with me as a teacher and friend.

Steve always had a quick laugh and a kind word. We had great times back in the day. I knew him from his pre-teaching days in adolescent mental health, when his empathy in working with children and families was starting to shine. I'll always remember the famous red bowling shirt he sported at poker games. Steve was a good man, the kind of person we all gravitated toward. My deepest respect and condolences go out to his family. Rest in Peace, Steve.

A genuine tragedy. He was one of the few people I've know who inspired complete respect and admiration and also had the ability to give it bountifully to those who deserved it. Made for an incredible teacher and I can imagine an amazing husband and father.
My heart is with those who daily lives were permeated with his presence. And I hope the inherent initial absence can someday transform into a renewed presence in the eyes of who he loved.

Steve was a delight to work with and an example of a dedicated teacher. He was and is a special memory.
Myndi and girls, you were his pride and joy may his love surround you with happy and joyous memories.
