Stephen Ives Bruce

I was his Leading Chief Petty Officer at his first duty station NAS Patuxent River MD . Next ran into DT1 Bruce as an instructor at NSDAT San Diego. I was the Command Master Chief next door of the Regional Dental Center. The Dental Detailer wanted a name of an outstanding dental technician for duty aboard a battleship. I proudly recommended Bruce for the position. His promotion to DTC and DTCS made me proud to have known this Sailor. Deepest sympathy to the family. Rest Your Oars...

We are so sorry to hear of Steve's loss. He was a wonderful guy whom we've had the privilege of meeting and attending church with at Kemble UMC. Steve will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

We were the only two Dental Technicians selected out of our Boot Camp Company 951, and graduated together From Dental Technician School in 1971. And by some great coincident in 1977-79, lived directly across the street from each other on Forest Haven Lane in Chesapeake, VA. We taught CPR together when stationed at NRDC NorVa.
