Not sure what to say?

What a huge loss for the La Crosse rea. Amazing writing skills, an inspiration to all. Prayers and thoughts to his family. RIP Steve Kiedrowski, La Crosse

Very sorry to hear of Steve's passing. Chris was a classmate at Rockwell Swaledale and spoke fondly of her relationship with her older brothers and sister. My deepest sympathy.

I was saddened to learn of Steve´s passing, and my condolences to his family. During the early 2000s I worked with Steve at the Tribune, where I sat next to him for nine years. He was quiet with an easy going and kind nature which made it easy to like him. Steve had a strong work ethic and did a great job reporting on the business activity in and around La Crosse. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.

I met Steve on several occasions. He made sure that all the small businesses in Lacrosse and the surrounding area got a good start. He used to come on site and interview and write up an article that helped the small business owner get started. He was a great journalist. RIP Steve

A fine man and a great journalist. Heaven's editorial standards just got higher.

We know Steve from St.Joseph the Workman Cathedral Parish in LaCrosse. He interviewed many of his fellow parishioners for "The Worker" and always did an outstanding job. Because I am from Calmar, Iowa Steve is lucky I never knew that he was from Iowa, as I probably would have told him way too many stories. We will have a Mass offered at the Cathedral for Steve and his family. May his loved ones find a peace that exceeds all understanding. John and Pat Stellflue

Thank you Steve, for all of the great things you did for us in La Crosse. You worked tirelessly in helping `get out the word´ when a new small business started in the area. Your interviews with new small business owners encouraged them and made them feel confident about their new venture. You also helped many people with your listening ear as they navigated changes in the area. You will be dearly missed.

We met Steve only once when we picked up his son, Joey, for a weekend trip with our grandson, Colin a few years ago. We spoke briefly with him as the boys loaded the gear in the car and were impressed by his kindness and the trust exhibited letting his boy leave with strangers! Joey gave us a rundown of his journey to LaCrosse...a real window on the loving, giving nature of both the Cahalans. Our entire community has lost a wonderful man. Rest in peace knowing, you did a great job.

I had the great pleasure of working with Steve at the La Crosse Tribune. What always impressed me about him was how genuinely friendly and considerate he was. In a newsroom filled with loud people with big personalities - myself included - Steve provided this wonderful calm and sanity in what could be a crazy and intense environment. To Steve Cahalan, you did it right my friend and you will be missed!
