I was so sorry to hear the news about Dr. Cheshier's passing. He made an enormous contribution to higher education in the state of Georgia, overseeing the growth of "Southern Tech" to Southern Polytechnic State University. His subsequent work in developing the Cobb Education Consortium was also vital in connecting all the educational entities in the county. I join the many faculty, staff, and students who are grateful for the leadership he offered.
