In 8th grade, Steve ran the 220 yd sprint in 23.4. This was phenomenally fast for someone in Jr. High school. The next week, the coach took him to the Murray High Track meet and he broad-jumped 20 ft 3 inches. Impossible!
In that era, there were some great sprinters,
Steve Lavigne, Danny Mower, and Rick Wiseman, but Steve was the "king" with those statistics, and one of my friends to brag about even until today.
Steve hasn't changed in appearance since he came into Arlington School...

Dear Janet and Conde kids - it broke my heart for all of you when I heard about Steve. I remember Steve's joking and humorous side while we were growing up in Sandy. I swear he was always smiling that big smile!
