1956 - 2021

WEST DECATUR - Stephen "Steve" R. Dickson, 65, of West Decatur, passed away Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Steve was born May 12, 1956 in Clearfield, the son of Brinton and Mary (Kowalski) Dickson.

He had been employed by the state Department of Transportation, recently retiring in May 2021. He also was owner of SRD Racing, building go-kart engines.

Steve loved racing, spending time with his grandchildren and the many friends from the racing family where he created many fond memories.

Steve is survived by his wife, Kimberly (Brown) Dickson, whom he married Aug. 14, 1976; a daughter, Stephanie Thomas and her husband Ben of West Decatur; two sons, Kevin Dickson and his wife Emily of West Decatur and Vince Powell and his wife Danielle of Madera; eight grandchildren, Courtney and Harley Powell, Hannah, Gavin, Maya and Elaina Thomas, and Tallon and Taylor Dickson; a brother, Bill Dickson and his wife Mary of West Decatur; and very special niece and nephews, Brittany and Doug Slother and Billy and Aaron Dickson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jim Dickson; his grandparents, William and Florence Kowalski and Chet and Leona Husted; a mother-in-law, Nancy Brown; and a sister-in-law, Crystal Brown Foreman.

Funeral services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield on Monday, Aug. 30, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the hour of services.
