Not sure what to say?

Dear "Aunt" Shirley:
Among my fondest memories of growing up in Bay Village was visiting the Dodd home, with its big back yard and the regular tractor rides with "Uncle" Steve through the woods. I also remember spending a week with you when my Mom was in the hospital--I fell and cut my knee trying to bring you a raincoat in a rainstorm. Many years later, in telling those stories, come to find one of my best friends in Dallas, Jeff Williams, worked for Steve at Bonnie Belle. We...

To the Dodd family,
We are all sadden by Steve's passing but hold on to the many good memories which help get us though these difficult times. He most certainly is in a better place.
Our prayers are with you all.

DEAREST SHIRLEY & FAMILY: I AM DEEPLY SORRY TO HEAR OF STEVE'S PASSING. REMEMBER THAT WHEN TROUBLE COMES AND THINGS GO WRONG AND YOU HAVE LOST YOUR HEART'S SWEET SONG REMEMBER GOD MAKES ALL THINGS RIGHT AND TROUBLE VANISH LIKE THE NIGHT-SO NEVER THINK YOU'VE REACHED THE END, FOR JOY AWAITS YOU 'ROUND THE BEND. TAKEN FROM THE BEND IN THE ROAD BY HELEN STEINER RICE. THESE WORDS HAVE HELPED ME MANY TIMES AND I HOPE SOME COMFORT COMES TO YOU ALL FROM THESE WORDS. A DONATION TO THE AMERICAN CANCER...

Dear Shirley,
Fifty Eight Years! Wow! That says a lot. We are so sorry for your loss. We want you to know that we are praying for you. I'm sure the Creator of the Universe is holding you in his loving arms right now giving you strength and comfort for this time. Knowing that Steve is in Heaven doesn't take away the pain of this world. But just knowing that he is walking with Jesus can stop the ache that comes in the middle of some lonely night. God is faithful. Our shelter in the time...

John and Jim and all families,

Although we really didn't know Steve, except very casually, we had great respect for the entire Dodd family. Therefore, as you have shared our sorrows in the past, we extend our sympathy to you.
God bless,

Dear Shirley and Children:
Mom called to tell me of Steve's passing yesterday. The whole Spanulo family is praying for the Dodd family during your time of sadness. I am most grateful that both you Shirley and Steve were able to come up for Rudy and Anna Mae's 50th anniversary 5 years ago. It was a memory my parents still talk about...you traveling here to celebrate with them. Tell the children hello for us and know that our hearts are close to yours at this time. May God continue to...

Dodd family,
Our family was sorry to hear of your husband's/father's death. My mom called me when she read his obit, and she and I spent the next couple minutes reminiscing about our days on Bassett Rd.
We all have such good memories of you and your family, i.e., the continuous succession of forts (hay/mud/snow) being built by the boys, tractor rides in the woods, River Bay Day Camp, climbing the pole to get a candy bar, and tasting pizza for the first time at your house. I...
