Stephen John Emery, born November 29, 1966, completed his earthly journey on March 14, 2025. Steve was a cherished husband, son, step-son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, nephew, cousin, friend and colleague. He was born in Leominster, MA, son of Lillian Brown and the late Walter Emery.
Steve is survived by his wife of 18 years, Corinne Miller, mother Lillian, sisters Beth (& Mike) Pond, Lisa Emery and Catherine Emery, nephews Dylan (& Trish), Nolan, Philip and Reed, nieces Olivia, Grace (& Mike), Tori (& Hunter), step-son Will, dear friends Dave, Jerry, DJ, June, Tina, and six great nephews and nieces. He was pre-deceased by his step-father Elliott Brown, brother Mitchell and dear friend Phil Dibble.
Steve graduated from “Monty Tech” in 1984, with a specialty in Diesel Mechanics. He put that to good use fixing cars, trucks, tractors and lots of other things. He loved cars, motorcycles and tractors, traveling around New England with step-dad Elliott to compete in antique tractor-pulls, and ran the garden-tractor pull at the Bolton Fair for many years, teaching and inspiring the next generation (including his nephews) in tractor skills. Steve’s career included numerous jobs, including mechanic, salesman, wood shop operator and manager. Finally, he had a long and successful 20-year career at Applied Biosystems/Thermo-Fisher as a Senior Facilities Manager in biotechnology, combining these many skills and more, and from which he retired in 2024.
Steve married Corinne in 2006, after bonding at work and being enlisted to help mount shutters, in exchange for meals and companionship shared on pleasant summer evenings. He embraced their life together, filled with many large, long-hair pets, requiring the purchase of a retreat in Vermont and large vehicles to transport all the beings! VT was Steve’s happy place, in the middle of the woods in the Green Mountains, with many hours spent hiking, snowshoeing, wood-splitting and stacking, gardening, tractoring and sugaring. They operated the Bobcat Sugar Shack, making maple syrup every year during early spring. He became expert in asparagus and garlic cultivation.
It is with deep sadness that we say farewell for now.
