Bedford Funeral Home - Bedford Obituary

Stephen John Emery, born November 29, 1966, completed his earthly journey on March 14, 2025.  Steve was a cherished husband, son, step-son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, nephew, cousin, friend and colleague.  He was born in Leominster, MA, son of Lillian Brown and the late Walter Emery.

Steve is survived by his wife of 18 years, Corinne Miller, mother Lillian, sisters Beth (& Mike) Pond, Lisa Emery and Catherine Emery, nephews Dylan (& Trish), Nolan, Philip and Reed, nieces Olivia, Grace (& Mike), Tori (& Hunter), step-son Will, dear friends Dave, Jerry, DJ, June, Tina, and six great nephews and nieces.  He was pre-deceased by his step-father Elliott Brown, brother Mitchell and dear friend Phil Dibble.

Steve graduated from “Monty Tech” in 1984, with a specialty in Diesel Mechanics.  He put that to good use fixing cars, trucks, tractors and lots of other things.  He loved cars, motorcycles and tractors, traveling around New England with step-dad Elliott to compete in antique tractor-pulls, and ran the garden-tractor pull at the Bolton Fair for many years, teaching and inspiring the next generation (including his nephews) in tractor skills.  Steve’s career included numerous jobs, including mechanic, salesman, wood shop operator and manager.  Finally, he had a long and successful 20-year career at Applied Biosystems/Thermo-Fisher as a Senior Facilities Manager in biotechnology, combining these many skills and more, and from which he retired in 2024.

Steve married Corinne in 2006, after bonding at work and being enlisted to help mount shutters, in exchange for meals and companionship shared on pleasant summer evenings. He embraced their life together, filled with many large, long-hair pets, requiring the purchase of a retreat in Vermont and large vehicles to transport all the beings!  VT was Steve’s happy place, in the middle of the woods in the Green Mountains, with many hours spent hiking, snowshoeing, wood-splitting and stacking, gardening, tractoring and sugaring.  They operated the Bobcat Sugar Shack, making maple syrup every year during early spring.  He became expert in asparagus and garlic cultivation.

It is with deep sadness that we say farewell for now.

Not sure what to say?

We lived near Stephen and his mom and sisters when he was just a very little boy. He used to sneak up the back stairs to our apartment and ask my mom for chocolate milk. What a sweet little boy. My mom loved him and so did all the neighbors. So sorry for your loss Lisa and Beth. I remember all of you growing up.

Here’s the message
‘Steve you were a very dependable and a very kind team memeber always there for our team with your unwavering support. I still can’t believe this and will take time for me to come to terms with this reality. You will be always missed Steve whenever we think of safety or facilities or best in class building maintenancewill miss you my friend! My deepest condolences to your family and your loved ones will be in my prayers during this challenging time . Rest in peace ’

Steve was a great person. He was always willing to help.

Corrine and Will, I am so sorry for you loss. I hope the happy memories will get you both through this difficult time. Stay strong, your Echo friend Dina

I am so sorry to hear about Stephen. My special condolences to Aunt Lil - losing a child of any age is probably the saddest thing we will ever experience. Losing a husband, a sibling, a friend still hurts and my deepest love and prayers to everyone - Corinne, Lisa, Beth and all of his entire family. I have some fond memories of Stephen but what holds close to my heart is that he was there for me when my daughter and my mother died. I will never forget. May his beautiful soul rest in the...

We were all deeply saddened to hear of Steve's passing. Although over the years, we were not able to get together as often as we all would have liked, we always enjoyed the times we were able to get together. You will always hold a place close in my heart my little cousin. We will meet again someday and all be together. Love, Cheryl and Family

Steve was one of the kindest & most gentle of souls! I know he has joined a long line of our loved ones in heaven! Rest in peace until we meet again. Aunt Sheri
