Minneapolis, Minnesota
Foley, Stephen B. Age 49, of Minneapolis, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, leaving behind a large contingency of devastated friends and family members. Steve had a heart of gold and was the master of bad puns, corny jokes and a penchant for extreme honesty when a gentle fib would have sufficed. A longtime rock n' roll drummer, Steve lived the dream, moving that drum kit from his mom's garage to playing at the renowned Longhorn, First Avenue and 7th Street Entry to playing with The Replacements on their farewell tour. Steve also played with other notable Minneapolis bands Bash and Pop, Wheelo, Curtiss A, Trailer Trash, Routine 11, Things That Fall Down and Snaps. Steve also loved the outdoors, running with his dog Lulu, rollerblading and hanging out at the Bryn Mawr Coffee Shop. Steve is survived by his brother, Kevin and sisters, Colleen, Anne, Barb (Tom Fischer), Ellen (Bruce Velich) and Jennifer (Rob Robello); stepbrother, Mark Carlson; stepmother, Clare Foley; Kristen Arden Foley; Mary Altman; aunts, Marguerite and Kay; uncles, Richard, Bill and Clair; cousins, and most importantly, his special nieces and nephews, Tucker, Jack, Ellie, Nick, Will, Cole, Natalie, Ruby, Emily, Baye, Lexi and Frankie. Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Foley and his father, Joseph Foley. The family would like to thank Steve's close and loyal group of longtime friends for their support. Service Friday, 12 noon, with visitation beginning at 11 AM at Washburn- McReavy Edina Chapel, W. 50th St. & Hwy 100. A picnic gathering will follow at Bryn Mawr Meadows Park. Just watched No Country For Old Men for the umpteenth time. Thought of Steve since we went to it together with our significant others. I remember coming out of the theater and asking him what he thought of it. He looked at me and said that was a hell of a movie.

Dear Foley family and friends,
I've had the briefest of sporadic glimpses of Steve as he bombed around with my brother and the Hazlett boys, but he always seemed to bless all those he met with a beautiful welcoming presence that made the corny puns all the more enjoyable. He will be missed.

My heart goes out to all...I feel the loss deep in my heart. Every Foley that I ever came in contact with over the past several decades impressed me with their humor, incredible energy, inspiration with a deep resonating compassion for life. I can still see the sparks of light that danced in Steve's eyes as he talked.
Love to all,
