Stephen M. Gatchell

Gatchell, Stephen, M., 56, died Thursday, October 7, 2010.  He was the beloved husband of Terry J. (Ormsbee) Gatchell.  Born in Providence, a son of the late James and Iolanda (Coia) Gatchell, he has been a resident of Warwick since 1989 and had recently been living in Memphis, TN for 5 years and Waltham, MA for the past year.  Stephen was employed as a Director of Engineering for Euro-Pro in Needham for the past year and had worked for Hunter Fan Co. in Memphis, TN for 5 years.  He had formerly been employed for Honeywell now Kaz and at Leviton Mfg. and Elmwood Sensors.  He was a member of Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) and the Church of the Transfiguration in Cranston.  Stephen loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and flying kites.  He was the father of TSGT Steven T. Gatchell, USAF of Medford, NJ, Andrew M. Gatchell of Cranston, and Sara R. Gatchell of Warwick; brother of Susan Delano of N. Andover, MA, Annmarie Gatchell of Warwick, Evelyn Dawson of Riverside, Raymond Gatchell of Cranston and Marilyn Hendrickson of Warwick; grandfather of Dominic and Roxy Gatchell.

His funeral will be held Thursday, October 14 at 9:30 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a service at 11 am in the Church of the Transfiguration, Broad Street, Cranston.  Burial will be private.  Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 pm.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Ste. 3004, Warwick, RI 02886 will be appreciated.
